Effective April 1, 2008*, most projects
within 250 ft of the water will require a NH DES Shoreland Permit. There
are a few exceptions, but most development, rebuilding, expansion, and
construction will require a permit under the new RSA 483-B guidelines.
This means that planning ahead can be the most important component when
considering buying, selling, or re-developing shorefront property.
